What is WAXSOL?

What is Waxsol?

WAXSOL is an effective water-based solution used to treat the build-up of wax in the ear canal.

WAXSOL’s active ingredient is docusate sodium, a surfactant that allows water to target the source of the ear wax build up, helping to loosen the ear wax that has become hard.

Just two continuous applications of WAXSOL over two nights may be enough to remove some symptoms of the blockage and reduce the need to syringe the ear.

WAXSOL may be used on children 12 years or over, elderly people, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. If you have any concerns about whether WAXSOL is suitable for your use, please speak to your healthcare professional.

Before using Waxsol:

  • Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you plan to use WAXSOL in conjunction with any other medicine
  • Always read the label and use only as directed

Do Not Use Waxsol if:

  • you have a perforated ear drum
  • your ear is sore or inflamed

Discontinue use if you feel pain or inflammation of the ear after treatment. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
